FBCA desires to practice relational ministry and to make a significant impact overseas. Therefore, we at Fellowship Bible Church Arapaho have decided to focus our missions efforts predominantly on one country, supporting career missionaries, short-term trips, national workers, and projects in the same region (with due regard to our current commitments and the support of "home-grown" missionaries). Instead of having very little impact in many places, we can desire to focus our resources on one region and have a powerful impact in that place. Our church has chosen to focus its efforts on the country of Serbia because of our pastor’s unique connection with that country. To learn more, visit The Serbia Project website.
The first youth mission trip to Mexico took place in 1993, and the trip has been a highlight for teens every year since then. Keeping with the church’s commitment to relational ministry, students have gone back to visit the same people in Mexico each summer on FBCA mission trips, building strong friendships and ties that surpass cultural boundaries. Students work on physically demanding jobs, helping to meet very real tangible needs. In addition, they work on their own relationship with the Lord while shining His light to those they meet. In his book “Blue Like Jazz,” author Donald Miller made a provocative statement that truly shapes the way we try to reach out in love to those who physically live near the church property – “We learn that we are lovable or unlovable from other people. That is why God tells us so many times to love each other.” It is our goal to love those around us so that they too can see that they are extremely loved by the creator of the universe. We love with no strings attached – we just want people to feel loved so they can learn how lovable they are and how much God loves them. We love through holding community breakfasts, helping people with general maintenance issues in time of need, entering into friendships, holding classes that educate and inspire, and any other ideas that might come our way. read more »
